Assistant Director, Kenny Weiss
In July of 1973, Kenny boarded a bus from Queens, NY to Camp Delaware in Winsted, CT, now Greenwood Trails, where Camp Happy Place takes place. He says that it was the beginning of 10 life-changing summers and a lifetime of friendships.
By day, Kenny is a technology project manager for a large financial firm. He and his wife live in New Jersey and have 3 amazing children, 1 perfect grandson and an Australian Shepherd named Ollie. Outside of work, Kenny can be found searching for new music and planning his next concert trip, hiking in the woods with his wife and pup and sometimes grudgingly going to the gym. The summer camp experience stays with you forever, and I’m so excited to work with the Camp Happy Place team and kids!
Arts & Crafts Director, Laura Ettenberg
Over the past seven years, Laura has dedicated her time and expertise to working with children in the Melrose and Malden Public Schools and currently holds the role of literacy assistant. Endlessly patient and kind, Laura excels at engaging children’s imaginations. The campers will absolutely adore her as she guides them through their creative endeavors. Her daughters Andie and Millie will be bringing their own special talents as counselors and activity leaders.
